However, having them as pets will not be easy because they need full time attention from their owners. When getting a Yorkshire terrier, there are many options available where an individual can get them. Three options have been known where to find this specific breed. These sources are animal shelters, breeders, and rescues. Each of these options has their own advantages and disadvantages so consider carefully where to get your own puppy.

Dogs that do not get enough attention from their owners will develop a lot of unusual behaviors. They develop problem such as digging in yards, chewing things and excessive barking. Even though a yorkie does not need that much exercise compared to other breeds, they still require love and attention. Inspect the entire facility and see if its clean and every dog have their own space and their comfortable with water and food ready for them. Check how many puppies are inside a kennel and if the areas are free from feces and urine. If the operation is not to your liking, then move on to the next list.

Decide if a yorkshire is the right dog. Every breed has different variations in terms of sizes, needs and temperament. Even if a person loves dogs, they must think carefully whether a specific type of breed will be suitable for them and their family.

When choosing a Yorkie, take multiple visits to the facilities and see which one is always excited to see you and see how they interact with their siblings. Cross out pups that shows shyness and awkwardness. Spend some time playing with them as well. Normal Yorkshires likes to play a lot, friendly and curious.

Yorkshires are very territorial and barks a lot. Even though they suit for being watchdogs, they still need to be train to control their excessive barking habits. They have long coats that needs to be groomed by their owners regularly. Due to their small sizes, it would be unfitting for a household that have small children to play with them.

Dogs are wonderful pets. There are many breeds that can be chosen from and each breed have their own personalities, temperament and price rates. However, no matter what the breed is, it is important to cherish your pet and give them all the necessary things for them to survive.
