Controversies And Truth About The Silver Lab Puppies

By Steven Murray

Labrador puppies come in three colors namely, black, brown, and yellow. All of these possess various shades that are dramatically unique in different levels. They could be pale or very light, medium, and even dark and solid.

However, there is a breed of Labrador puppy that has a color which only a few breeders recognized and accepted. Such color is silver. While the silver lab puppies Fresno have been known and accepted by few and selected breeders, they have been passionately rejected by most breeders worldwide.

Their existence in this world has been debated, argued, and questioned by many breeders across the world ever since one hundred years ago or so. Negative perceptions of these creatures have been projected. Many breeders blurted out from their mouths that they can cause potential danger to the whole kennel community and Labrador ancestry. It is mainly because they were newly discovered and developed.

They look like any other Labrador puppies out there but with a twist in their coat color. Instead of a strong and original one, it tends to look paler. The shade of its fur is distinctive. Do not confuse them with the whites. The white ones are the pale versions of the yellows, thus considered to be categorized under yellow Labrador group.

One of its controversies is that they are a product of cross breeding between brown Labradors and Weimaraners. According to those who are anti silver labs, such breeding process makes them silver. However, it is just their opinions, not considered as a fact.

Way back many and long years, black labs are known to be the only and one breed. Because of they make very good pets and have only one shade which is purely black, these became widespread and dominant. During the early or in the middle of eighties, the chocos and yellows were discovered. They were highly regarded as rare or unusual breeds until the nineties, just before the grays caught the attention of people from different walks of life.

Take note that the coats of the silvers appear somewhat metallic or grey. It is mainly because of their genes. These what make the different shades of labs appear to appear dramatically. Out of the countless genes that make up a lab, there are few controversies and concerns that anyone must understand how these controversial puppies have this coat. Generally, the genes of Labradors are the ones that take control of a color of a Labrador puppy. Usually, there are two genes that come in pairs. These are B and E, as well as their counterparts, the b, and the e.

The mentioned genes are, however, not applicable in this case. They have their own gene pool that is said to be a unique kind. These include the D and d. Yes, that is right. The big D and small d. The first one is responsible for switching color into its full intensity which results in a solid and seemingly original color or shade. The second one is responsible for its dilution. Such state occurs when the big D or the switcher is overriding its pair. If d and d are present, there will be no dilution or changes.

These facts prove that these earthlings are pure and natural breeds and that they should be given due acceptance and appreciation. Furthermore, there are countries that set up KCs or Kennel Clubs which are associations that recognizes and classifies different breeds of lab puppies and dogs. Some of them regarded them as a relative of a chocolate or brown family of lab puppies since they were known to be diluted browns. In other developed and progressive countries in different continents also give them recognition and acceptance as being one of the natural variances but labeled them as Uncategorized groups.
